MONDAY JANUARY 9

EVENT
MONDAY
Monday morning
got off to a positive start. Scent dogs were accompanied by approximately
50 members of State, Harnett and Lee County Deputies were on hand.
A medical ambulance stood by in case of injury to searchers, the
Red Cross provided catering and a State Highway Patrol Helicopter
made a showing. The search area was in Harnett County just beyond
the Lee County border down a long narrow unpaved road and just
west of the Cape Fear River. It is reported by authorities that
live scent dogs, brought in Thursday by Lee County, picked up
a scent worthy of the massive efforts seen today. Other dogs were
later brought in but nothing more developed. A team of 20 or so
trained searchers, brought in from the Department of Corrections,
organized one of those shoulder to shoulder searches through the
woods. The search suspended at 4:30 and there was little indication
that this kind of intensive search would continue at that location
tomorrow.

An area very close to the Cape Fear River was hit on today by
live scent dogs working since Thursday mostly around the crime
scene 2 miles away. Today's search did not turn up any evidence
and there is no word if the search will begin tomorrow at this
location. By all indications this was a Hail Mary.

Many areas, such as the one above, have yet to be searched. It
may be important for all property owners to take the time to do
a quick survey of their property to see if anything unusual stands
out. They should look for freshly broken branches, clothing, female
accessories such as jewelry, pocketbook, make up. They should
also look for disturbances to the ground plants and soil.
IF SOMETHING IS FOUND DO NOT GO NEAR IT, DO NOT TOUCH IT, IMMEDIATELY
CALL 911 AND PREVENT ANYONE ELSE FROM DISTURBING IT UNTIL AUTHORITIES
ARRIVE. This is important, you would be surprised but
people searching for the missing, have in the past, found human
skeletal remains and collected them into an empty cigarette package.
The rule is
LOOK BUT DO NOT TOUCH! There are many empty sheds,
tobacco barns, vacant homes, etc. If you are a property owner
do a quick search and ask your friends if they have done the same.

Word has been circulating for some time that Michelle Bullard
was spotted in a Broadway convenience store with David Wilson.
A reliable source has said that Michelle was indeed in the store
on the night of her abduction. It was hours before she was reported
to have been taken at gunpoint from her friend's home. The source
said that there was absolutely no indication that Michelle knew
or even spoke with Wilson.
As you can see from the above pictures of infamous crimes caught
on surveillance tape that many crimes are solved because of the
video taped evidence. Since the store's tape does not show any
interaction between the two then one must suppose that, once again,
there is a coincidence of connection with the abduction. Was Wilson
stalking her? Perhaps. Most likely this was the only coincidence
in this case that I might be able to believe, unless there was
someone else he was stalking, perhaps someone with Michelle had
displayed a large sum of cash as they paid for their purchase
and this was the moment that the robbery first came into Wilson's
head. I say that because a CNN reporter stated on Nancy
Grace last week that the other young woman at the house that
night was the first one taken, she was returned and the abductor
took Michelle instead. If there was a fascination with Michelle
then he would have targeted her first and not the other girl.
But then again who knows what goes through a cracked up head of
a brutal convicted murder.
I am curious to see what Wilson purchased at the store. Was it
tape? Well he was caught on tape wasn't he?
What next? A river search may be coming soon. A press feeding
frenzy when legitimate media reports Wilson's violent past is
long past due. Wilson's family is expecting it, they have taken
down their mailbox. The mother mentioned on Nancy Grace last week
that her daughter, Michelle's cell phone was with her when she
was abducted and that she attempted to reach her dozens of times
but the phone went to voice mail after several rings. This indicates
that the phone was still turned on. QUESTION:
are authorities able to triangulate the signal reaching her phone
even if it doesn't pick up? We will try to answer that soon.
I have learned that Michelle's
family is reading this website. If you want to pass along
your love and support write to them in care of the Lee
County Sheriff - PO Box 4567 Sanford, NC 27330 or by
emailing the sheriff at lcsheriff@alltel.net
THIS JUST IN!!!!!!
Michelle Bullard's mother made a second appearance Monday night
on the CNN Nancy Grace Show.
The mother confirmed that Michelle was indeed in a store at the
same time as David Wilson. Store cameras captured this at aproximately
10PM the night Michelle was abducted. There was no indication
that the two were together.
FROM THE SHOW:
Karen, I understand there are reports Michelle and David
Wilson, this guy that committed suicide when cops approached him,
may have crossed paths in a convenience
store earlier that evening. True or false?
RIOJAS: True, Nancy. What we have learned is, between 10:00, 10:30
p.m. on the 1st of January, Michelle and this 49-year-old plumber
were spotted on a surveillance camera in a store at the same time.
GRACE: Right.
RIOJAS: Not together, but at the same time.
GRACE: And then, Karen -- that`s a good distinction to make --
and then, when police approached him later, he committed suicide
rather than talk to police.
Also on the show, Fayetteville Observer reporter, Julia Oliver
said that she had just learned that afternoon of the criminal
history of David Wilson. Good job seeing how I talked with the
Fayetteville Observer last Wednesday when I went through their
archives. I was told then that they already knew about the past
murder. The next day Oliver published this
heart wrenching tale of a man down on his luck. Wednesday
morning, early and it is Tuesday almost a week later and finally
a front page article (not on the internet or I would link it).
This is important background on the murderer. It is an easy check,
public information, contact the DA, the Clerk of Courts to learn
the details of the crime or just go to the DOC website and search
for past criminal history, enter in the name, bingo, you
get something like this.... [sigh] just that easy
But not to worry Ms. Oliver isn't the only one that can't do
background research. Yesterday morning I received an email from
a television news producer asking me where I got the information
about Wilson...jeez
Ms. Oliver admitted her recent discovery on Nancy Grace
FROM THE SHOW:
GRACE: Can you help us help police find Michelle Bullard?
Minding her own business, sitting on a sofa watching TV, home
invasion, boom, she`s gone. Straight out to Julia Oliver, reporter
with the "Fayetteville Observer."
Julia, welcome. Bring us up-to-date, friend.
JULIA OLIVER, "FAYETTEVILLE OBSERVER": Hi, thank you.
Well, authorities are still searching an area about two miles
away from the trailer where the abduction happened. They say they
haven`t ruled anybody out, but I discovered
this afternoon that the man who committed suicide in Harnett County
was apparently convicted of second-degree murder in 1975. And
that didn`t show up on our initial record check. But he was convicted
of shooting a tavern owner in Fayetteville.
But in her Tuesday front page article she still allowed the family
of David Wilson to say how wonderful the murderer was and how
he shot the man in self defense. I guess that's why he got 40-60
years in prison. As I mentioned above it is not hard to pull the
facts from the DA or Clerk of Courts and learn the facts about
the case. Wilson, in 1974, shot and killed Mr. Thomas Courney
in cold blood, and that if a fact worth reporting on.
So what he had a job, so what his family loved him, so what he
worked all the time and for some reason couldn't afford his $400
a month rent or be able to buy his daughter a Christmas present.
So what the piece of crap was in the store the same time as Michelle,
it wasn't like they were together, as a couple or anything, she
left the store before he did.
I don't' know what is worse, a child molester or a cold blooded
murderer, at least the victim of a child molester has a fairly
decent chance of recovery and will be able to lead a regular life,
experience the love of others, but the victim of a cold blooded
murder is dead, his family will never recover the loss, there
will always be an empty chair at the table.
No matter which crime is worse, somewhere on the list would be
a reporter that does not do his or her homework regarding something
as serious as this. This story is life and death, Michelle may
very well be alive and if David Wilson is a part of this crime,
as I suspect, then someone might just say something if they felt
that the authorities and news sources were on their trail. Accomplishes,
peripheral witnesses only know what they read in the paper, see
on the television or hear from rumors regarding the case, if they
suspect that their name may be linked with the crime they will
cough up the truth faster than you can say, "David Wilson
did it"
