Joe Cheshire is thought of by most of the Bar membership of North Carolina, as being the best defense attorney in the State. Cheshire has represented some of the most famous cases seen in the state over the past 30 years. Most recently he has undertaken the headline case of Ann Miller Kontz, accused of killing her husband, Eric Miller, with poison. He also helped to represent Alan Gell in his winning bid to be released from death row and gain his freedom. The Blue Line has great respect for Mr. Cheshire and were not surprised to hear that he met with the Beck's and wrote letters on Johnnie's behalf without charging a fee.
