Kayla Allen inspires us all to help children in need. Kayla's Spirit was with all of the walkers in the Saturday, June 12th walk around Jacksonville's Commons. The 3.2 mile walk was aided by a brisk breeze but still many walkers worked up an Olympic sized sweat.
Walkers enjoyed the opportunity to meet new faces and share in a passion for protecting children.
Matching charms were presented to Heather Baker, Kayla's aunt and Nicole Allen, Kayla's mother
Gifts were given out as door prizes.
T-shirts, beautiful handmade bracelets, lollypops and candy were sold to help raise funds for the August Pig Pickin'
Immediately following the walk several of the participants went to the nearby Chili's and began washing cars. The weather was overcast but the spirits' were not broken as everyone pitched in to either wash or stand along the side of the road and flag cars in.
