HOUND DOG SCRIPT EXCERPTS

You will note that there is a curious interest by 12 year-old Dakota Fanning's character, a 9 year old, from the begriming, page two of the script, she is trying to talk a 10 year old boy into showing her his penis by promising him a kiss if he does so.

Dakota Fanning- LEWELLEN

The girl LEWELLEN is played by Dakota Fanning.
She’s a girl of nine, her mother died in child birth and she is being raised by an alcoholic father and an eccentric grandmother played by Piper Laurie.

Cody Hanford- BUDDY

SCENE 39

Lewellen and Buddy have just finished swimming in the creek when they run to a shed and strip naked. Soon they begin kissing and fondling each other as they have done "many times before". This scene was quickly reshot the day after the investors pulled out. What was on the film that caused them to reshoot? Was this what upset the investors?

Daddy is pleasuring himself as Dakota watches until he completes the act.

 

Isabelle Fuhrman- GRASSHOPPER

Grasshopper, is in several scenes. She is the rich neighbor visiting nearby. She is younger than Lewellen. There are shots, "upskirt" shots (a porn term), that focus Grasshopper's underpants. Later on Lewellen forces Buddy and Grasshopper to strip totally nude and ties them together forcing them to touch each other.

Lewellen stands in front of the full length mirror takes her clothes off and looks at herself in the mirror

Daddy sneaks into Lewellen's bedroom as Lewellen lays in bed in her underpants. Later on he climbs in her bed nude.

Daddy wants Lewellen to sit in his lap, Lewellen asks why and he smiles and says because it "feels so good".

THE FOLLOWING IS THE MUCH TALKED ABOUT RAPE SCENE, EVEN THOUGH A DISCLAIMER IS PRINTED ON THE SCRIPT SAYING MUCH CARE WILL BE TAKEN TO DISCRETELY PORTRAY THIS RAPE IN A DELICATE MANNER. SOURCES, ON SET AT THE TIME, TELL THE BLUE LINE THAT CREW WALKED OFF THE SET BECAUSE IT WAS SO GRAPHIC AND WAS FAR FROM BEING BACKLIT AS DISCRIBED BELOW. THE SCENE WAS FULLY LIT AND IT WAS EXTREMELY GRAPHIC. SOURCES TELL US THAT THE VIDEO ASSIST RECORDED EVERYTHING SHOT ON CAMERA. WE WERE ALSO TOLD THAT MISS FANNING'S MOTHER SAT IN FRONT OF A MONITOR WATCHING HER DAUGHTER PRETEND TO BE RAPED.

(DIRECTOR'S WORDS: Dear reader - please note - there is no nudity or explicit
violence in this scene. All nudity and violence is implied.
Occasional flashes of lightening illuminate the scene but most of this scene is in darkness and therefore the information is heard rather than seen.
When the lightning flashes occur, they enter in streaks through cracks in the wood siding of the shed, so that even when there is light it is limited to selected areas of the space that are carefully chosen, keeping everything else in darkness and primarily revealing faces or symbolic objects.)
It’s dark because of the storm. LIGHTNING illuminates the room in a flash and we see Wooden’s boy standing there in the shed. Lewellen jumps and grabs Buddy with a scream and
then starts laughing.

WOODEN'S BOY played by Christoph Sanders - Wooden's Boy is the milkman that delivers milk to Lewellen's house and has been eyeing her in a couple of prior scenes. Lewellen's gift is her ability to sing and dance like Elvis. Reading the script it seems she goes into a trance when she does this. She has a fantasy that if she were to meet Elvis he would take her on the road with him and make her a star. Elvis comes to town and Wooden's Boy has tickets he will give her if she will dance and sing totally nude for him. She does this and when she asks for the tickets Wooden's Boy unzips himself and rapes Lewellen while calling her a "nigga lovr". All this takes place in the presence of 10 year old Buddy.

In this script the character Lewellen drinks beer and smokes cigarettes. She lays in bed in a very queer scene with Stranger Lady played by Robin Penn Wright. Another scene that could be a bit disturbing is a scene in which Lewellen is up in a tree nude while talking to a man.

These are our comments regarding what we read in the script. We have a copy of the script that has been made available to law enforcement because of our concern that the scenes depicted in this script could be evidence that the laws regarding the sexual exploitation of a minor and child pornography could have been broken by those that recorded these scenes for the purpose of distribution. The script that we read has to be the same or very close to the script read by Dakota's agent Cindy Osbrink and her mother Joy.

If this movie proves to be child pornography they neglected to protect Dakota.
